LAS VEGAS (Oct. 28, 2025) — The Archdiocese of Las Vegas is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Neal Umphress as President of Bishop Gorman High School, effective November 3, 2025.
Mr. Umphress was selected following a comprehensive national search conducted in partnership with an executive search firm and guided by the President’s Search Committee. He brings extensive leadership experience, strong financial and strategic expertise, and a deep commitment to his Catholic faith and to Catholic education.
“Mr. Umphress brings demonstrated excellence, integrity, financial acumen, and a collaborative spirit that will advance the mission of Bishop Gorman and ensure its continued distinction as a leading Catholic high school,” said Archbishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D. “We look forward to building on the strong foundation established under the visionary leadership of Mr. Kilduff and remain grateful for his fifteen years of exceptional service.”
Mr. Umphress has more than twenty years of service as an FBI Supervisory Special Agent specializing in finance and development. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Nevada and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Mr. Umphress shared, "It's a deep honor to serve a school and faith community so dear to my family and me. I look forward to partnering with the Archdiocese, faculty, families, and alumni to ensure Bishop Gorman continues forming young leaders grounded in faith, academics, and service."
Mr. Umphress and his wife, Victoria, are proud members of the Bishop Gorman community. They are the parents of a Bishop Gorman graduate and with a daughter currently attending Bishop Gorman High School. Victoria Umphress is herself an alumna.
Mr. Umphress succeeds Mr. John Kilduff, who will retire after fifteen years of distinguished leadership that earned Bishop Gorman national recognition as a premier Catholic high school.
