The Archdiocese of Las Vegas Celebrates Pope Leo XIV
Learn MoreLas Vegas (May 1, 2024) — On May 25, Archbishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D., will ordain Rev. Mr. Joseph A. "AJ" Sales and Rev. Mr. Michael Williams to the Priesthood during a festive Mass at Guardian Angel Cathedral.
Rev. Mr. Joseph A. "AJ" Sales, is completing his final semester at Mundelein Seminary in Illinois. Deacon Sales is from Las Vegas, raised by parents Sennen and Bessie, alongside his sister Cathy, who works at Catholic Charities. His years in youth ministry guided his vocational journey, and he was deeply influenced by his devotion to the Blessed Mother. Among his interests are his shih tzu, Porkchop, music, weightlifting, and exploring Las Vegas eateries.
Deacon Michael Williams, was born in Ely, Nevada, to Eric and Veronica Williams, he grew up in a devout household alongside three siblings, nurtured by the community of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Encouraged by his pastor at the age of 8, he began discerning a call to Priesthood. A pilgrimage to Medjugorje after Confirmation deepened his spiritual journey, particularly guided by the Blessed Mother. Affirmed through an encounter with a Benedictine Cross, he pursued seminary education, experiencing profound spiritual growth. In his leisure, he finds joy in automotive work and fly fishing on the lake for trout.
The Mass of Ordination will be held at 10:30 a.m. on May 25 at Guardian Angel Cathedral at 302 Cathedral Way, Las Vegas, NV 89109. All are welcome to attend!
