2025 New Priest Assignments

LAS VEGAS (May 12, 2025) —Archbishop George Leo Thomas Ph.D. is pleased to announce the following Priest appointments. (All are effective July 1, 2025):- Reverend Edgar Suarez, CSV, is appointed Pastor at Saint Viator.
- Deacon Magnus Igbokwe, who is to be Ordained priest May 30, 2025, is appointed Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary.
- Reverend Alex Viruthakulangara is appointed Parochial Administrator at St. Andrew.
- Reverend Miguel Diaz, a priest from the Diocese of Teotihuacán in Mexico, is appointed Parochial Administrator at St. Patrick, and its missions Saint Barbara and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
- Reverend Jacob Knee will be pursuing canon law studies through Catholic University of America, while remaining Chaplain at Bishop Gorman High School.
- Reverend Bede Wevita, while moving to Senior Priest status, is appointed to begin a new ministry as Vicar for Senior Priests.
- Reverend Shawn Dresden is appointed Director of Liturgical Commission, while remaining Pastor of Saint John Paul II.
- Reverend Michael Williams is appointed Assistant Director of Vocations, while remaining Parochial Vicar at Christ the King.
- Reverend Richard Rinn, CSV, will move to Senior Priest status, and will reside in Las Vegas. We wish Father Rinn well in his retirement and are extremely grateful for his many years of priestly ministry in the Archdiocese of Las Vegas.
- Reverend James Jankowski is appointed another six-year term as Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
- Reverend Marc Howes is appointed another six-year term as Pastor of St. John Neumann.
- Reverend Joseph “AJ” Sales is appointed part-time chaplain at Bishop Gorman High School, while remaining Parochial Vicar at Holy Spirit.
- Reverend Luis Van Dam is appointed Hospital chaplain for both Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Thomas More
