Archbishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D., Bishop Gregory W. Gordon, and the Catholic faithful of the Archdiocese of Las Vegas, extend their heartfelt condolences to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to the family and friends of President Russell M. Nelson upon his passing.

Political discourse must never be stained by bloodshed. As Catholics, we are called to uphold the dignity of every person, created in the image of God, and to build communities rooted in peace and respect. At this painful moment, we must recommit ourselves to dialogue over diatribe, to listening rather than shouting, and to seeking common ground without resorting to violence.
